PV3 and PV3L trawl doors from Morgère are ideal for Scots fishermen looking to optimise catches

Morgère will be promoting its PV3 and PV3L trawl doors at the Skipper Expo Int. Aberdeen 2014.

Both types of these ‘latest generation’ doors are designed for bottom trawling, with the PV3 based upon more than 50 years research that has been supported through consultation and feedback from working fishermen. Their design ensures excellent contact with the bottom, with the grouped louvers providing lift and helping to reduce drag.

The PV3L, which is an adaptation of the PV3, is a relatively new design that was launched only a year-and-a-half ago. It has a lower centre of gravity than the PV3 enabling it fish even closer to the seabed, making it ideal for catching groundfish and prawns. The design provides excellent stability and an optimum angle of attack.

Michel Dagorn of Morgère says: “Both these types of door are ideal for the Scottish fishing grounds and will help deliver optimum performance to achieve good catches of fish and prawns. Fishermen using these door types in Iceland have been reporting excellent results.”

Morgère will be visiting Fraserburgh, Peterhead and Aberdeen on the week commencing 26th May to meet skippers and suppliers just prior to the Skipper Expo Int. Aberdeen 2014. They will be in Fraserburgh on Monday 26th May and Tuesday 27th May, and Peterhead on the 28th May.

Michel says: “I am really looking forward to meeting with Scottish skippers on the quayside, as well as at the Aberdeen expo.”
