The versatility of Morgère’s Exocet and Polyfoil trawl doors is resulting in a steady flow of orders from the French fishing fleet.

Delivering to vessels working such diverse areas as the English Channel, Bay of Biscay and the Mediterranean, skippers are opting for Morgère trawl doors because they like the excellent and stable spread they offer.

Among the boats to recently receive new Exocet doors was a vessel belonging to the Scapêche fleet, working the demanding fishing grounds to the west of Scotland.

Michel Dagorn, director of Morgère, said: “Exocet is a trawl door that reduces fuel consumption and is stable and easy to shoot.

“The key design features of Exocet include a number of innovative modifications that has resulted in nearly 60% of the weight of the doors focused at the base, with the top half of the doors much lighter.

“The incredibly strong materials used in the manufacture means that the doors are very durable and last much longer than standard steel doors, bringing further cost benefits.”
