Morgère will be promoting its successful Exocet and Osprey trawl doors at the forthcoming Itechmer exhibition (16 to 18 October) in Lorient, Brittany.

The robust steel Osprey semi-pelagic trawl doors are specially designed to fish on or just above the seabed, while the popular Exocet has won great praise from skippers for its performance on the seabed. Both types door offer excellent stability that delivers an efficient angle of attack, which reduces drag and thus benefits fuel consumption.

An exciting feature this year will be a new modified design of Exocet, with enhanced curvature of the door surface, which enables skippers to have even greater control of trawl spread and ensure better overall performance.

At the expo, scallop fishermen will have the opportunity to learn more about the dredge equipment that Morgère constructs, including towing bars. The dredges and accessories supplied by Morgère utilise professional engineering and fabrication skills with an in-depth knowledge of the requirements of the fishing industry to develop innovative and high quality products which are renowned for their design, durability and quality of workmanship.

Morgère will also be promoting its two boat repair and maintenance facilities at St Brieuc and Perros-Guirec in Brittany. Specialising in steel, metal and pipe work, the two repair facilities offer fishing vessels and other marine craft comprehensive repair and maintenance services that ensure quality workmanship and fast turnaround.

The facilities can cater for vessels up to approximately 25 metres and feature special boat-lift capabilities up to 450 tonnes.

Michel Dagorn of Morgère said: “Morgère has a proud tradition of supplying fishermen with the very best equipment, combined with excellent personal service where we provide advice and help. We look forward to meeting with skippers at Itechmer where they will be able to see the benefits offered by using our range of trawl doors, dredges and other fishing equipment.”
