With the French scallop fishing season progressing well, local fishermen from Boulogne-sur-Mer in north-east France down to La Rochelle on the Bay of Biscay coast are able to utilise the expertise of  Morgère for all their scallop gear requirements.

Following an agreement forged last year between Morgère and Reid Scallop Gear of Brixham, England, a full range of high quality scallop gear equipment and parts are currently available to French fishermen.

Under the supply arrangement, Morgère supplies frames, chain bags and toothbars produced by Reid Scallop Gear, which complement the towing bars and tipping bars manufactured by Morgère at their factory in St. Malo, Brittany.

The dredges and accessories supplied by Morgère utilise professional engineering and fabrication skills with an in-depth knowledge of the requirements of the fishing industry to develop innovative and high quality products which are renowned for their design, durability and quality of workmanship.

Michel Dagorn of Morgère said: “We offer the full range of scallop gear equipment, as well as a comprehensive repair and support service. Scallop fishing puts huge demands on the equipment and fishermen can benefit from our steel engineering expertise. We also have a large range of parts in store, which ensures quick turnarounds for any orders.”
