Moroccan skippers benefit from Morgère trawl doors

Tuesday, 04 October 2016

Morgère trawl doors are proving popular with Moroccan skippers with 18 sets having been sold over the last two years to the fishing fleet based in the Port of Tan-Tan, south-west Morocco.

The fleet in Tan-Tan trawl for demersal fish, squid and octopus and require high-performing doors to ensure optimum catches. The trawl doors supplied by Morgère are the VO type, which feature a V-profile and offer excellent stability in challenging towing conditions.

The doors are easy to shoot and are well adapted to cope with rough ground conditions with the position of the foils enabling more spread and less drag. As well as in Morocco, the VO type has also proved popular with fishing skippers in a number of other countries around the world.

Michel Dagorn of Morgère says: ““We have a strong relationship with the fishing fleet in Tan-Tan and these orders for our doors highlights the highly effective performance of this type of equipment, which is well adapted for use in a variety of demersal fisheries.”
