Morgère to exhibit its top performing Exocet trawl door at Skipper Expo Aberdeen Int. 2017

Thursday, 09 February 2017

The high-performing Exocet trawl door produced by Morgère will be among the fishing gear equipment they will have on display at the forthcoming Skipper Expo Aberdeen Int. 2017 (26 and 27 May).

Exocet has won rave reviews from skippers in a number of different countries since it was launched onto the market a couple of years ago.  The door offers excellent stability due to its unique design where nearly 60% of the weight of the door is focused at the base, with the top half much lighter.

These special design features means the angle of attack of the doors can be reduced without comprising upon spread in the trawl opening, resulting in savings in fuel consumption. A key feature is the lower angle of attack compared with a standard door while maintaining the same spread. Fishermen using

Exocet have praised the doors for their stability and ease in shooting.

Skippers visiting the Morgère stand will also be able to find out more information on other popular doors designed by the company, including pelagic and semi-pelagic doors.

Morgère will also be promoting its innovative new Cyclops pair trawl monitoring system, which provides pair team skippers with the ability to monitor and control the size of the pair trawl opening whilst at the same time using the optimum amount of chain required to ensure the desired depth of the fishing gear.

Michel Dagorn of Morgère said: “After a successful exhibition last year, we are delighted to confirm that we will be attending Skipper Expo Aberdeen Int. 2017. Scotland is an important market for Morgère where we have long-standing relationships with our customers.

“All our equipment, including the Exocet door, is designed for optimum performance in the varied and challenging fishing conditions encountered by Scottish fishermen.”
