Morgère will be promoting its range of trawl doors and other fishing gear systems at Skipper Expo Int. Aberdeen 2018.

Of particular interest to Scottish skippers will be the Exocet trawl door that has been specially developed to meet the operational requirements of vessels fishing in the north-east Atlantic.

Skippers already using Exocet have been impressed by the robustness and stability offered by the trawl door, combined with reduced drag that benefits fuel consumption.  A key feature is the lower angle of attack compared with a standard door while maintaining the same spread.

Another type likely to interest Scottish skippers is the new ‘Osprey’ door, which has been performing well in Icelandic waters, and which fishes on and just above the seabed. Also on display will be the highly popular PV3 door.

For pair teams, Morgère has also developed an innovative monitoring system called Cyclops that enables pair trawlers to optimise the size of the trawl opening. The system gives skippers the ability to monitor and control the size of the pair trawl opening as well as helping ensure the desired depth of the fishing gear.

Michel Dagorn of Morgère said: “We are really looking forward to meeting fishermen at Skipper Expo Aberdeen Int. 2018. Morgère has strong links with the Scottish fishing industry that have been developed over many years of working closely together.

“With our new Exocet trawl door and the Cyclops pair trawl system, we are bringing new technology to optimise fishing performance.”
