Exocet trawl doors delivering great results for fishermen

Morgère will be promoting its new and improved Exocet trawl door design at Irish Skipper Expo 2020.

Since its launch onto the market five years ago, Exocet has proved highly popular with skippers, providing excellent fishing results. The new design features an enhanced curved profile, which provides optimum trawl spread whilst minimising drag, thus saving on fuel costs.

Exocet is ideally suited to the challenging fishing conditions encountered by the Irish fleet, with the doors being extremely tough, easy to handle and versatile.

The key to Morgère’s success has been intensive and sophisticated research work in the design and development of their trawl doors. This includes the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) research focusing on the hydro-dynamics of new trawl door designs so as to calculate and optimise the performance.

Michel Dagorn of Morgère says: “Morgère is committed to continually innovating and investing in new designs and technologies to ensure the optimum performance of our trawl doors.

“We work closely with fishermen on our new designs to ensure they meet their special requirements. Fishermen also like our excellent customer service where we are always available to provide advice and technical assistance.

“We look forward to meeting with skippers at Irish Skipper Expo 2020, which will provide the perfect opportunity to see how our trawl doors can optimise fishing performance.”
